AGCO proposes five-day suspension of PointsBet Canada registration

Enforcement & compliance

Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) proposed suspending PointsBet Canada’s iGaming registration for five days over its handling of suspicious bets on Jontay Porter, the regulator said. PointsBet said an inaccurate response in March 2024 resulted from human error, and it disputes the proposed sanction; it has 15 days to appeal to the Licence Appeal Tribunal.

The proposal puts PointsBet Canada’s Ontario registration at risk and sets an appeal deadline.
