ACMA requests blocks on 12 gambling websites in Australia

Enforcement & compliance

Australia’s communications regulator, ACMA, asked internet service providers to block 12 online gambling and affiliate websites after finding they breached the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The action brings the number of sites blocked since November 2019 to 1,751; ACMA said Pointsbetz.com was imitating the licensed PointsBet service.

The requests affect access to gambling and affiliate websites for Australian users and identify a site imitating a licensed operator.
