AGCO warns Ontario private karaoke bars of stricter enforcement over alcohol violations

Enforcement & compliance

Source: AGCO (Ontario)

Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) said recent compliance checks found private karaoke bars had an alcohol-law violation rate nearly twice that of other licensed venues. The commission said it had increased monitoring and outreach, and may impose stronger sanctions, including fines, suspensions or licence revocation for repeated or continuing breaches.

Licensed karaoke bars face increased oversight and potentially stronger penalties for persistent alcohol-law violations.
