AGCO suspends PointsBet Canada registration for five days in Ontario

Enforcement & compliance

Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission suspended PointsBet Canada’s gaming registration for five days, announcing the action on 12 February. The regulator said the case concerned alleged failures to monitor, detect, document and report suspicious betting activity linked to Jontay Porter in 2024; PointsBet Canada said it was disappointed and had 15 days to appeal to the Licence Appeal Tribunal.

The suspension and appeal window affect PointsBet Canada’s ability to operate in Ontario and its response to the regulator’s findings.
