KSA orders Hillside to strengthen Dutch affordability checks

Enforcement & compliance

The Netherlands’ Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) issued Hillside a binding order after finding shortcomings in its handling of customer affordability risks. The regulator said some deposit limits exceeded its 30% monthly net income benchmark, and at least one customer had no limit; Hillside must comply within four weeks. Hillside argued that the Dutch framework was open to interpretation and said it could meet the requirements through cross-checking player information.

The order requires Hillside to analyse affordability signals and use evidence documents in customer checks.
