Subtel orders DNS blocking of 37 more betting websites in Chile

Enforcement & compliance

Chile’s Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (Subtel) told internet providers to block 37 more websites linked to online betting, following rulings by the Supreme Court and Santiago Court of Appeals. Providers Entel, Movistar, Claro, GTD, WOM and VTR have 48 hours to implement the DNS blocks and report completion to the court; the domains were validated by the Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego.

Affected betting platforms and internet providers must respond to an expanded court-backed blocking process within 48 hours.
