Council of State upholds KSA’s €12.64m fine against N1
The Netherlands’ Council of State upheld the Kansspelautoriteit’s €12.64 million fine against N1 for illegal online gambling directed partly at Dutch players. The court found the regulator’s approach to calculating the penalty correct, including its use of turnover generated in the Netherlands to determine the fine; N1 had challenged both the calculation and the finding that Bob Casino targeted the country.
The ruling confirms the KSA’s penalty calculation in this case and the factors it considered evidence of targeting Dutch players.
