Enforcement & compliance

Italy’s Guardia di Finanza concluded an investigation into an alleged unauthorised online and telephone betting operation active from 2018 to 2021, with notices issued to 10 people, according to the report. Investigators estimate the group handled about €23m in wagers and made around €5m in profits; the case had previously been transferred from Marsala to Trapani.

Operators face a reminder that alleged unlicensed betting activity can prompt criminal investigations and asset seizures.
