New York Gaming Commission approves three downstate casino proposals

Licences & markets

New York’s Gaming Facility Location Board approved proposals from Bally’s, Hard Rock and Resorts World for three downstate commercial casino licences, with the Gaming Commission moving forward with the awards. Board consultants project the casinos could generate about $5.5bn in annual gross gaming revenue once the market stabilises, plus $7bn in gaming tax revenue over the first decade and $1.5bn in licence fees.

The approvals advance three casino projects and set projected tax and licence-fee revenue that could affect operators and public funding.
