New York board visits three casino bid sites before 1 December recommendations

Licences & markets

New York’s Gaming Facility Location Board visited the three downstate casino bid sites as it prepares licensing recommendations due on 1 December. The board said the visits were to assess locations and clarify proposal details; the recommendations are non-binding, with the state Gaming Commission making the final licensing decisions. A lawsuit by the US Tennis Association alleges the city breached lease agreements by allowing Metropolitan Park’s bid to proceed.

The visits precede recommendations that will shape which downstate casino bids advance to the Gaming Commission.
