Nevada gaming board recommends lifetime casino ban for Mathew Bowyer

Enforcement & compliance

Nevada’s Gaming Control Board voted on Wednesday to recommend adding Mathew Bowyer to the state’s Black Book, which would bar him from Nevada casinos for life. The Nevada Gaming Commission will decide at a meeting in two weeks; the board said the listing is a regulatory judgement, not an additional criminal penalty. Bowyer pleaded guilty in September 2024 to running an illegal gambling business, money laundering and filing a false tax return, and received a 12-month prison sentence.

The recommendation could make Bowyer ineligible to enter any Nevada casino if the commission approves it.
