The Nevada Gaming Control Board has unanimously recommended licences for five sportsbooks operated by William Hill and Boomer's Sports Book. The Nevada Gaming Commission could grant final approval at its 19 November meeting.

The three William Hill sportsbooks are planned for Terrible's casinos in Indian Springs, Carlin and Searchlight. The two Boomer's Sports Books would go to the Nevada Nugget in Dayton and the Delta Saloon in Virginia City. Regulators did not require the operators to appear when the recommendations were made on Wednesday. The board's familiarity with William Hill Nevada and Boomer's from previous licensing applications lay behind its decision to waive appearances.

Across the state, William Hill has also grown through new and upgraded sportsbook locations. Virgin Hotels Las Vegas and Hotel Nevada in Ely are among the recent additions. The Verdi Grillhouse in western Nevada and Barton's Club in Jackpot, near the Idaho border, are also on the list.
