Gambling Regulator outlines charitable and philanthropic licence plans

Licences & markets

Source: GRAI (Ireland)

The Gambling Regulator said the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 permits licences for specified gambling activities conducted for charitable or philanthropic purposes. It does not expect this licence type to accept applications in 2026, so organisations should continue using the current permit system until further notice.

Charities and philanthropic organisations must continue applying through the existing permit system in 2026.
