GRAI opens applications for Ireland’s betting licences

Licences & markets

Ireland’s Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRAI) can begin accepting and processing applications for remote and in-person betting licences after Minister Jim O’Callaghan signed a commencement order. The GRAI said it will phase in licence types; remote operators can be licensed from 1 July 2026 and in-person operators from 1 December 2026, when existing licences expire.

Operators must prepare for Ireland’s phased licensing process and the stated dates for remote and in-person licences.
