Australian government proposes gambling advertising limits and online keno ban

Regulation

Australia’s government announced proposed gambling advertising and online product restrictions on 2 April, according to reports. The plan would cap television advertising at three adverts an hour between 6am and 8.30pm, prohibit adverts during live sport in those hours, restrict online adverts to logged-in adults who can opt out, and ban online keno. The Alliance for Gambling Reform said the proposals do not go far enough.

Operators would face proposed restrictions on advertising channels, placements and online keno in Australia.
