Argentina government proposes penalties and advertising limits in gambling bill
Argentina’s government has proposed a bill for Congress that would tighten controls on online gambling and address illegal betting and youth gambling. It would allow prison sentences of up to six years for people running illegal platforms and prohibit advertising for unlicensed platforms across media; the proposal also assigns domain-blocking and financial-flow controls to state agencies.
Operators and payment providers could face new advertising, age-verification and enforcement requirements if Congress approves the proposal.
