Australia plans online keno ban and new gambling advertising restrictions from 2027
Australia’s government announced reforms responding to a parliamentary inquiry into gambling harm, with measures scheduled to take effect from January 2027 through amendments to the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The package includes an online keno ban, advertising limits and stronger ACMA powers to block illegal gambling sites and related financial transactions.
Operators will need to adjust online keno and advertising activity to the planned national restrictions.
