Armenia directs banks to reject unlicensed gambling transactions
Armenian authorities have directed local banks to reject Merchant Category Code 7995 transactions unless they come from licensed domestic operators. The measures accompany tighter anti-money laundering and customer checks for licence holders. Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan and State Revenue Committee head Rustam Badasyan will oversee implementation.
Banks and licensed operators will need to apply the new transaction controls and compliance requirements.
