Kazakhstan banks block $21m in illegal casino transactions over six months

Enforcement & compliance

Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov said Kazakhstan’s second-tier banks blocked more than $21m in transactions linked to illegal casino platforms between October 2025 and March 2026. He said the banks cancelled about 402,000 gambling-related payments during that period, while the government has also blacklisted foreign casino operators and 110 e-payment providers.

The blocked payments and blacklisted providers affect financial channels used by illegal online casinos in Kazakhstan.
