ANJL and IBJR ask Fux to suspend Brazil betting ban measure

Regulation

Brazil’s ANJL and IBJR filed an urgent petition on 6 October asking Justice Luiz Fux to suspend Provisional Measure 1.394/2026 until a public hearing requested by the government. If suspension is denied, they seek a transition to the prohibition from 31 December 2026, with authorised operations continuing until then and the measure’s deadlines starting on 1 January 2027.

The petition challenges the timing of the proposed prohibition and seeks to keep authorised betting platforms operating during a transition.
