Brazilian government permits sale of existing club shirts bearing betting brands

Regulation

Brazil’s Presidential Secretariat for Social Communication said retailers may sell football club shirts made before Provisional Measure 1.394/2026 took effect, according to a technical note. It does not extend sponsorship contracts or permit new promotional activity.

The guidance defines how the betting-advertising ban applies to existing branded merchandise, while leaving promotional use subject to review.
