Flamengo urges Brazil’s Supreme Court to rule on betting ban before 6 October

Regulation

Flamengo asked Justice Luiz Fux at Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court on 3 October to rule urgently on a challenge to Provisional Measure 1,394/2026, before its restrictions take effect. The club seeks suspension of the measure until Congress completes its review or the court rules on the case, whichever comes first. Flamengo said the measure’s deadlines affect betting-site access and advertising, including sponsorship displays.

The requested ruling could affect betting sponsorships and operator obligations from 6 October.
