ANJL and IBJR ask Brazil’s Supreme Court to halt betting-site redirects
ANJL and IBJR petitioned Justice Luiz Fux at Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court on 3 October, seeking an urgent injunction against a Justice Ministry order directing fixed-odds betting sites to a government page. The associations say the order goes beyond the authority granted by Provisional Measure 1,394/2026; it is due to take effect at 00:01 on 6 October and could redirect an estimated 100 million visits a day.
The dispute could determine whether operators must redirect users to a government page from 6 October.
