ANJL urges Brazilian betting members to reject government-site redirects

Regulation

The National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) urged its members not to comply with a Justice Ministry notice requiring betting platforms to redirect users to a government website from 6 October. ANJL argues the requirement lacks a legal basis; the notice cites Article 23 of Provisional Measure 1,394 and provides for sanctions, with possible blocking through Anatel and CGI.br.

Operators face a redirect requirement and possible sanctions while ANJL disputes the notice’s legal basis.
