Brazilian clubs ask Supreme Court to review betting sponsorship ban
At least 23 Brazilian football clubs have petitioned the Supreme Federal Court to challenge a provisional measure that bans fixed-odds betting operations, advertising and sponsorships. Flamengo estimates the measure could cost it up to R$430 million in 2027, while Botafogo says ending its Vbet sponsorship could threaten its judicial recovery plan.
The challenge puts existing club sponsorship contracts and their revenue at risk under the measure.
