Alberta sets 13 July launch for regulated iGaming market

Licences & markets

Alberta confirmed that its regulated online casino and sports betting market will launch on 13 July 2026. Minister Dale Nally said player protection will be central; operators must provide account activity statements, respond to signs of problem gambling and connect to the AGLC’s central self-exclusion system. The AGLC may grant eligible unregulated operators extensions of up to three months, to 13 October, on a case-by-case basis.

Operators must prepare player-protection measures and connect to Alberta’s central self-exclusion system to participate.
