Alberta sets 13 July deadline for grey-market operators to seek registration

Licences & markets

Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis requires unregulated operators to stop taking bets by 13 July 2026 and submit applications and fees to enter the regulated market. The authority may extend the deadline to 13 October 2026 only if an operator demonstrates a compliance path that could not be achieved by 13 July; no market launch date has been announced.

Operators face a defined transition deadline, application charges and registration fees before Alberta’s regulated market opens.
