AGLC publishes draft rules for Alberta online gambling market

Regulation

Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis published draft regulatory and operational guidance on 14 January for private operators seeking to enter Alberta’s future online betting and casino market. The guidance sets out licensing, advertising, consumer-protection and revenue-sharing requirements; the province is targeting a first-half 2026 launch, subject to licensing timelines.

Operators can assess proposed entry requirements, including fees and revenue-sharing terms, before Alberta’s planned market launch.
