Alberta establishes iGaming rules ahead of regulated market launch
Alberta has formalised an iGaming regulatory framework and opened registration with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis for operators and service providers seeking to begin licensing. The rules require measures including system-wide self-exclusion, player limits and advertising restrictions, while the province prepares to launch its regulated market later in 2026.
Operators and service providers can register for licensing, but must implement player protections and advertising restrictions before Alberta’s regulated launch.
