AGCO suspends PointsBet Canada for five days over betting-monitoring failures

Enforcement & compliance

Ontario's Alcohol and Gaming Commission imposed a five-day suspension on PointsBet Canada over alleged failures to monitor and report suspicious betting linked to Jontay Porter's 2024 scheme. PointsBet appealed to the Licence Appeal Tribunal, citing human error rather than a systemic failure; the company said it would present its case.

PointsBet’s appeal puts its suspicious-betting monitoring and reporting practices before Ontario’s tribunal.
