Virginia Lottery allows winners to claim prizes anonymously

Regulation

Virginia’s lottery anonymity law took effect on 1 July, allowing winners of prizes of any value to keep their identities private. The Virginia Lottery will stop publishing winner names online and will seek written consent before publishing names or photographs; it will notify Lottery Rewards and second-chance winners privately.

The change removes public winner disclosures across Virginia Lottery prize categories.
