Swedish administrative court upholds fines against three gambling companies

Enforcement & compliance

A Swedish administrative court upheld Spelinspektionen’s penalties against Betsson, Snabbare and Spooniker over anti-money-laundering deficiencies, according to the report. It confirmed fines of SEK6.5 million, SEK5.5 million and SEK10 million, respectively. The regulator’s investigation examined source-of-funds checks for customers aged 18 to 29 and deposits during 2023.

The ruling leaves the regulator’s source-of-funds findings and penalties in place for the three operators.
