Chilean iGaming associations challenge blocking of 42 betting sites

Enforcement & compliance

Two Chilean iGaming associations criticised Subtel’s order to block 42 betting websites, arguing that it went beyond the court ruling on which the measure was based. The groups said the original judgment identified 12 sites and alleged that the list used under Subtel’s process had expanded to more than 30; Subtel acted after receiving a list from the Superintendence of Casinos and Gaming.

The dispute concerns the scope of site blocking and its effect on operators seeking to comply with Chilean rules.
