Subtel says Chilean court rulings require blocking online betting sites

Enforcement & compliance

Chile’s Subtel head Romina Garrido said the courts’ rulings require the agency to block online betting sites, while describing digital VAT collection from those businesses as contradictory. Subtel has identified 42 domains and is working with the SCJ and telecoms companies on an ongoing process to identify and block further sites, she said.

The ongoing blocking process may extend beyond the 42 identified domains, affecting online betting access in Chile.
