South Korea police data show 267 teen cyber-gambling arrests in seven months

Regulation

South Korea recorded 267 arrests of teenage suspects in cyber-gambling cases from January to July 2026, according to figures submitted to the Korean National Police Agency. The count exceeded the 266 arrests recorded across all of 2025; Southern Gyeonggi had the highest regional total, with 50. Lawmaker Kim Jun-hyeok urged education authorities to measure the effectiveness of school gambling-prevention programmes, rather than only checking whether they are provided.

The figures and call for outcome measurement are relevant to authorities assessing youth gambling prevention.
