Klavi data show Brazilian betting participation reached 34.8% during World Cup
Klavi data reported that 34.8% of Brazil’s population had bet since the World Cup began, up from 11% in May, based on a sample of 1.2 million people. The study also found average deposits peaked at R$524 per bettor on 14 June; the Ministry of Justice is investigating CazéTV, Globo and SBT over suspected abusive advertising practices, and all three said they complied with Brazilian law.
The figures and advertising investigation provide operators with evidence of betting activity and regulatory scrutiny during the tournament.
