Senators accuse NCAA of profiting from sports data deal with Genius Sports
Massachusetts Senator John Keenan, New Jersey Senator Paul Moriarty and the Public Health Advocacy Institute criticised the NCAA’s data partnership with Genius Sports, alleging it enables gambling companies to offer high-risk college betting. The NCAA extended the agreement last year to allow data provision to sportsbooks, which include DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and bet365.
The criticism renews pressure for state restrictions on in-play, micro and college prop bets.
