Jdigital has welcomed the DGOJ's blocking of prediction-market platforms Polymarket and Kalshi in Spain. The trade association said the platforms require licences to operate in the country and called for enforcement to be accompanied by public information and support for the regulated market.
The blocking affects access to two prediction-market platforms and reinforces licensing requirements for operators targeting Spain.

New York has sued Polymarket over alleged illegal gambling. Polymarket has filed a lawsuit in response, following New York’s earlier legal action against Kalshi.
New York filed an illegal gambling lawsuit against Polymarket, the state's complaint alleging that the company runs a gambling business without a New York gaming license. Polymarket's response was to shift the matter into federal court, and the company brought a separate action of its own against New York gaming officials.
New York Attorney General Letitia James and Governor Kathy Hochul filed a lawsuit against QCX LLC, which operates as Polymarket US, on 23 September, alleging unlicensed gambling in the state. The officials seek to stop operations, recover gains and obtain user compensation and a penalty tied to three times the revenue from the challenged conduct. These are allegations and requested remedies, not a court ruling.
Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway ordered Polymarket, Kalshi, Crypto.com, Novig, Underdog and Robinhood to comply with state sports wagering laws or stop offering sports event contracts in Missouri. The companies have 30 days to confirm compliance; the state says the contracts require Missouri Gaming Commission licences, and Robinhood disputes the state’s position.

Regulators from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland announced a joint initiative against prediction market operators offering products without local gambling licences.
