Spain’s Consumo orders Polymarket and Kalshi website blocks during proceedings

Enforcement & compliance

Spain’s Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030 opened sanctioning proceedings against Polymarket and Kalshi over alleged unlicensed gambling and ordered their websites blocked in Spain as a precaution, reportedly. The DGOJ is handling the cases, which are expected to take three to four months to reach a final decision; the blocking order remains in force until then.

The precautionary blocks prevent the platforms from serving users in Spain while the proceedings continue.
