Spain orders temporary block on Kalshi and Polymarket during probe

Enforcement & compliance

Spain’s Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030 ordered a temporary block on Kalshi and Polymarket pending a DGOJ investigation into whether they offered betting services without licences. The regulator expects the investigation to last three to four months, with the block remaining in place during that period.

The order prevents the platforms from operating in Spain while the DGOJ examines their licensing status.
