Italy's Council of State sends Bolzano betting-licence dispute back to regional court
Italy's Council of State ruled on 5 June 2026 that a betting company's appeal against Bolzano municipality was inadmissible and returned the dispute to the Bolzano regional administrative court. The case concerns the municipality's position that the betting authorisation expired on 30 August 2023; the court said its 2024 ruling on distance rules had not decided that issue.
The dispute leaves the local betting outlet's authorisation status for the regional court to examine.
