Council of State rejects appeal over Bolzano betting licence under 2024 law
Italy’s Council of State rejected a betting concessionaire’s request to suspend a measure concerning a betting shop in Bolzano. The court said the 2024 provincial law extended distance rules to betting licences and that the licence appeared to have expired within two years of the law taking effect; it also declined to accept the constitutional challenge at this interim stage.
The ruling indicates that betting venues outside provincial distance limits may lose the right to operate under the 2024 law.
