Italy’s Council of State refers bingo concession extension rules to EU court

Regulation

Italy’s Council of State referred questions on bingo hall concessions and paid extensions to the Court of Justice of the European Union, according to a document presented to the Chamber of Deputies by European Affairs Minister Tommaso Foti. The document says the challenged rules raise concession fees without considering operator size and make acceptance of the extension and fee increase, alongside a ban on transferring premises, a condition for entering later tenders.

The referral puts the fee and participation conditions for bingo concession holders under EU court review.
