Colorado Senate sends SB 131 betting restrictions to governor

Regulation

Colorado's Senate concurred with House amendments to SB 131 on 13 May, sending the online sports betting restrictions to the governor for action. The bill would cap deposits at six per person per gaming day, prohibit credit-card deposits and restrict advertising; violations of the credit-card ban could draw fines of up to $25,000 per offence. The act is scheduled to take effect on 12 August if no referendum petition is filed.

Operators may need to change deposit, payment, advertising and reporting practices if the governor signs the bill.
