Chile’s SII ranks 20 online betting platforms ahead of VAT enforcement

Chile’s Internal Revenue Service (SII) ranked 20 online betting platforms that operated in the country during 2025, using transaction records, according to the report. Jugabet, Epicbet and Rojabet topped the ranking. The SII said it would issue a further resolution listing operators subject to VAT collection through intermediaries or payment-related entities.

The planned list will identify betting operators subject to Chile’s digital VAT collection mechanism.

Chile’s Subtel reports seven betting firms challenge website blocks

Chile’s Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (Subtel) said seven online betting companies have filed court and administrative challenges to website blocks imposed under court rulings. Subtel reported three judicial challenges and six administrative cases; the Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego said 174 illegal betting sites had been blocked since 19 August.

Seven online betting companies have filed judicial and administrative challenges to website blocks imposed by Chile's Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (Subtel), the regulator told the Chamber of Deputies' economy committee. The blocks were applied in compliance with rulings by the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of Santiago, according to Subtel. Telecommunications undersecretary Romina Garrido said three judicial challenges, in the form of protection appeals, had been filed.
