Chile’s Subtel reports seven betting firms challenge website blocks
Chile’s Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (Subtel) said seven online betting companies have filed court and administrative challenges to website blocks imposed under court rulings. Subtel reported three judicial challenges and six administrative cases; the Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego said 174 illegal betting sites had been blocked since 19 August.
The challenges contest enforcement of blocking orders and the agencies’ role in addressing unregulated online betting platforms.
