Brazil survey finds 78% struggle to distinguish legal betting sites
A survey commissioned by the Brazilian Institute for Responsible Gaming found that 78% of respondents in Brazil considered it difficult to distinguish legal betting sites from illegal ones. It also found that 72% did not always check whether a platform was regulated, while 46% had deposited money on sites later identified as fake or irregular and 73% had used at least one operator identified as illegal for 2025.
The survey figures point to consumer verification challenges for regulated operators and enforcement bodies in Brazil.
