Regulation

Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service told a congressional hearing that regulated betting companies generated R$9bn in tax revenue in 2025. Its representative said a further R$3.1bn had been collected through April 2026 and reported that 22 authorised companies had settled R$111m in outstanding tax after an inspection campaign in the second half of 2025. Deputies convened the hearing to examine tax collection and distribution.

The figures and reported arrears inform scrutiny of betting taxation and compliance in Brazil’s regulated market.
