BCSlots and Eilers & Krejcik Gaming have signed a strategic partnership to combine machine-level performance data with direct player feedback, the companies said. BCSlots founder Brian Christopher said the first survey had recently been published and that it was still too early to identify clear trends.
According to Christopher, EKG has collected technical data on machine-level performance for a long time but lacked direct player input on experiences with slot machines. He said the aim was to understand players' perspectives and to identify what they like, what they want to see more of and what frustrates them. He added that slot manufacturers and casinos were encouraged to contact BCSlots or EKG with questions they wanted answered about player preferences and experiences.
Todd Eilers, co-founder of Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, said the partnership would benefit both his company and BCSlots' players. He said combining the company's quantitative data with qualitative insights from BCSlots' audience would give a more comprehensive understanding of slot games, and that integrating machine performance data with players' experiences and perceptions would offer EKG's partners a new perspective on the slots available on the market.
Christopher remarked that it is premature to say which features players are looking for in slot games. For his own part, he said he would enjoy seeing more titles built around numerous features, since these hold his attention and keep him playing for longer, and he believes fellow players share that preference. His first slot game, Brian Christopher's World Cruise, was made with help from Gaming Arts and arrived under a year and a half before the BCSlots-EKG agreement.
“Christopher explains that it is still too early to identify clear trends, as the first survey has only recently been published.”
