ANJ commission sanctions licensed operator over anti-money-laundering breaches

Enforcement & compliance

Source: ANJ (France)

France's National Sanctions Commission imposed financial sanctions and a suspended two-month ban on online gambling activity after a hearing on 8 July 2026, the ANJ said. The decision followed an ANJ inspection that identified failures involving asset-freezing procedures and notification to the economy minister; the sanctions also apply to a company executive and its compliance officer.

The decision gives regulated operators a concrete example of enforcement over anti-money-laundering controls and reporting duties.
